Ferrule lengths and where they are best used

Tri Clamp ferrules can be used in a variety of different applications. From butt welding to adding ports on a vessel. Depending on where the ferrule is going will require a different overall length to ensure a clamp and gasket can be secured.

Short (WMP) - Great for butt welding and creating your own extension tubes. Because there is very little overall length, it should be welded to the end of something that allows you to still use a clamp and gasket.

Medium (MMP) - Great all around ferrule that helps save in overall length compared to the long ferrule but still allows you to use a clamp if welded to a surface such as a kettle. Good for places extending into the kettle like temperature probes. Can be substituted with a long ferrule.

Long (AMP) - Similar to a medium ferrule but gives you a little bit extra overall length. Good for larger vessels and flat surfaces where the wall is too close to the flange. Can be substituted with a medium ferrule.
